Therapies at The Village at Luther Square
The Village at Luther Square’s (VALS) rehabilitation wellness center is to help improve physical condition and teach residents how to maintain it! Our interdisciplinary team’s goal is to transition you from hospital to home as safely as possible through discharge planning and reduce a hospital readmission. Our therapy team works closely with our physicians and nursing staff to provide the best results and help transition you home safely. Our on-site therapy programs include:
Physical Therapy treats the preservation, enhancement, or restoration of movement and physical function impaired or threatened by disability, injury, or disease that utilizes therapeutic exercise, physical modalities (as massage and electrotherapy), assistive devices, and patient education and training.

Occupational therapy helps improve activities of daily life (as self-care skills, education, work, or social interaction) especially to enable or encourage participation in such activities despite impairments or limitations in physical or mental functioning.

Speech therapy helps with the evaluation of speech, language, and voice disorders by helping patients rehabilitate through speaking, reading, and writing.

Restorative therapy assists the resident in maintain or preserving the highest level of physical and cognitive function. Restorative nursing interventions promote the resident's ability to live as independently and safely as possible. The restorative nursing program actively focuses on achieving and maintaining optimal physical, mental and psychosocial function.
